I wish Pale Fire Press would offer an audiobook option. Who has time to read anymore?

Good news, Nicole: You, Fascinating You by Germaine Shames will be released on within the next few days. We think you’ll love this Punch Audio production, brilliantly narrated by actor Susan Hanfield. We do!

It has been a long time since author Germaine Shames brought out a new novel. Is there one in the works?

We, too, are impatient for a next novel! Germaine Shames, however, is taking a hiatus from novel writing to forge a new career in theatre and musical theatre. Check out her growing body of work on the New Play Exchange and watch for her plays and musicals at a theatre near you.

I’m dying to read Germaine Shames’ first novel, Between Two Deserts, but it seems to have gone out of print. Call me a dinosaur, but I prefer to read the old-fashioned way. What to do?

Great news: Between Two Deserts will return to print on April 15, 2015. The new edition will soon go to press. You’re welcome to pre-order using our contact form. Thanks for reaching out!

Any truth to the rumor that You, Fascinating You, the novel by Germaine Shames, will soon hit the stage as a musical?

    • Pale Fire Press February 18, 2014 at 7:56 pm #

Yes, happily. YOU, FASCINATING YOU, the musical, will have a premiere by Studio Connections with Robert Encila directing. This interview tells more. The musical’s Facebook page tells way more. Thanks for asking!

I noticed that You, Fascinating You has won some sort of award. Congratulations!

Thank you! The Historical Novel Society has named You, Fascinating You “Editor’s Choice,” an honor bestowed each quarter upon a select few books that exemplify the best in historical fiction. Take a look

    Who is Casper Silk?

    • JM May 2, 2012 at 10:51 am #

      Keep a secret?

Casper Silk is the pseudonym of an award-winning author whose works defy easy categorization, combining elements of literary and genre fiction, and straying from the straight-and-narrow of chronology into a kaleidoscopic striptease of the human soul.

Readers throughout the ages have made a sport of unmasking pseudonymous authors, and the rumor mill is already churning out identities for the enigmatic Silk.

So, who is Casper Silk? We’re not at liberty to say—yet. But here’s a hint: there is a long tradition of female authors adopting male pen names. And another: the author in question has a body of work critics have variously called “lyrical,” “gripping,” and “heroic.”

By any name Silk delivers what readers lust after: a great read.
